Konbini began after I spent some time living in Japan,  a time in my life that changed how I saw the everyday. It wasn’t only the temples, the mountains, the amazing food, the hospitality or the famous sights that left their mark. It was smaller things. The glow of a konbini store late at night when everything else was closed. The comfort of a steaming bowl of noodles grabbed between train rides. The beauty hidden in a simple hand-glazed cup. Or the joy of finding a seasonal snack that I didn't know existed before.

Those details stayed with me, and they shaped what Konbini is today: a way to share the warmth, craft, and spirit of Japan back home in Australia. Based in Sydney, we want to bring a little piece of that world into your life, wherever you are.

Our Mission

We bring the everyday beauty of Japan to your doorstep. Every item in our store is chosen with care, for its authenticity, quality, and story. It might be a ceramic bowl from a family kiln in Gifu, or a sweet imbued with flavours that are specific to regions in Japan. Whatever it is, it’s genuine, thoughtful, and meant to last. 

We also import and sell items that, while may be accessible here in Australia, are hard to do so due to its restrictive prices or generally being inaccessible due to its niche nature. We aim to address these issues, by bringing products from Japan and making it accessible through our competitive pricing and our price beat guarantee.
