HAREKUTANI is produced by Toujudo Kiln (北野陶寿堂), a long-established Kutani kiln in Nomi City, Ishikawa prefecture. The brand brings Kutani porcelain into contemporary Japanese homes: brighter palette, more playful motifs, but still painted by hand in the traditional Kutani overglaze technique.

The Japanese rice bowl (chawan) is the smaller of the two standard bowl sizes — sized to hold a single serving of cooked rice, comfortable to hold in one hand throughout a meal.
