Mitsubishi Pencil's JETSTREAM is the pen most Japanese writers reach for first — a low-viscosity ink that lays down dark, crisp lines without the drag of a typical ballpoint. Karimoku is Japan's oldest premium furniture maker, founded in Aichi prefecture in 1940 and known for its solid oak and walnut craftsmanship.
This collaboration uses small offcuts from Karimoku's furniture production: pieces of oak or walnut that would otherwise go to waste are shaped into the grip section, then finished by hand in a furniture-grade urethane coat. The result is that no two pens are quite the same — the grain pattern is unique to the piece of wood it came from.
