Pentel was founded in Tokyo in 1946 and is one of Japan's foundational stationery brands. The Calme (カルム — "calm") is a 2019 design built around one idea: an office pen shouldn't be loud. The click mechanism is around 66% quieter than a standard retractable, the rubberised grip dampens vibration into the hand, and the oil-based ink lays down smoothly with no skipping.
