A flower-shaped Arita-ware kobachi bowl by Nanpu — hand-painted white plum blossom on a vivid red or yellow base, available in two colourways.

Nanpu is an Arita-based ceramics manufacturer in Saga prefecture (Kyushu), where Japanese porcelain has been made for over 400 years. The plum blossom (ume) is the first flower of the Japanese year, opening in February before the cherry blossoms — a symbol of strength, resilience and the arrival of spring. The bowl form is sculpted to echo the flower's shape, with a glossy finish that catches the light.
