Bowl Set – Blue Plum & Cherry Blossom Design (4pcs)

A set of four small Japanese ceramic bowls in blue-and-white sometsuke style — each painted with a different combination of plum (ume) and cherry blossom (sakura) motifs.

Made in Japan, the set sits in the long Japanese tradition of mixed-bowl tableware: each bowl is part of the same family, but each is slightly distinct. The blue-and-white cobalt-under-glaze palette is one of Japan's oldest decorative traditions. Plum and cherry blossoms together cover the early Japanese spring — ume opens first in February, sakura follows in late March.
