Hamasen Funmatsu Ryokucha – Japanese Green Tea Powder 100g

A 100g pouch of Japanese powdered green tea (funmatsu ryokucha, 粉末緑茶) from Hamasen — finely ground sencha leaves, bright and grassy, ready to whisk straight into hot or cold water.

Funmatsu ryokucha is the everyday Japanese powdered tea: sencha leaves milled finely so they dissolve in water without leaving grit. It's distinct from matcha (which uses shade-grown tencha leaves and has a richer, sweeter, more umami profile). Funmatsu ryokucha is brighter, grassier, and faster — there's no need to whisk for froth, and it doubles easily into baking, smoothies and lattes.

How to use

• Hot tea: 1½ tsp per 200ml of 70–80°C water, stir or whisk briefly
• Iced tea: 1½ tsp into cold water in a sealed bottle, shake
• Latte: 1 tsp dissolved in a splash of hot water, then add steamed milk
• Baking: add 1–2 tsp directly to dough or batter for green-tea flavour
