Hasami ware (波佐見焼) is a Japanese porcelain tradition from Hasami town in Nagasaki prefecture, with 400 years of history. Kikusho Pottery (菊聖陶園, est. 1997) is an independent studio in Hasami known for its hand-painted cat illustrations — each face slightly different, painted directly onto the porcelain.

The form is generous: a wide-mouth cup with a sturdy handle, deep enough to use as a soup mug, a small noodle bowl, or a substantial coffee/tea cup.
