Kokuyo (コクヨ) is one of Japan's oldest and largest stationery makers, founded in Osaka in 1905. The Harinacs (ハリナックス, from hari nashi — "no needle") line is the company's answer to a small office problem: metal staples have to be separated out before paper can be recycled. This Compact model is the palm-sized version — a 2-way lever you can squeeze in the hand or press with a thumb, with a confirmation window so you can see exactly where the bind will land.
