Kokuyo (コクヨ) is one of Japan's oldest and largest stationery makers, founded in Osaka in 1905. The Pasta Marker uses a water-based opaque ink: when you draw over text, the colour sits as a soft pastel film without obscuring the text underneath. Unlike transparent highlighters, this works just as well on dark printed text or coloured paper. Available in a range of curated shades from pale pastels to bolder tones.
