A pair of Kutani-ware yunomi teacups in a meoto (couple's) pairing — hand-painted by Kutani master craftsman Yoshinori Fukuda with golden clouds, cherry blossoms and Mt. Fuji.

Kutani porcelain has been made in Ishikawa prefecture for 360 years, and Yoshinori Fukuda is a designated Traditional Craftsman in the tradition. The pieces use Akae (red-over-white) and Ko-kutani (old-Kutani) overglaze techniques. The motif gathers three of Japan's most enduring symbols: Mt. Fuji for steadiness, sakura for renewal, golden clouds for good fortune.

The set is a meoto yunomi — the traditional Japanese pairing of two slightly different-sized teacups (a larger one and a smaller one), traditionally given as a wedding gift.
