A 360ml hand-painted Kutani-ware tea set — a kyusu teapot with built-in strainer and two teacups, decorated with a sansui (山水, "mountain and water") landscape motif. By Toujudo Kiln.

Toujudo Kiln (陶寿堂) is a working Kutani kiln in Nomi City, Ishikawa prefecture. Sansui is one of the oldest themes in East Asian art — the depiction of mountain-and-water landscapes as a way to evoke philosophical balance and the serenity of nature. Painted here in ink-wash style across the Kutani overglaze, with each teacup hand-painted slightly differently for individuality within the set.
