Morinaga Hot Cake Mix 300g - Japanese Pancakes

A 300g pack of Morinaga Hot Cake Mix — the smaller size of the Japanese pantry staple for soft, fluffy hot cakes, on Japanese supermarket shelves since 1957.

Morinaga is one of Japan's three major confectionery houses (founded 1899). Their Hot Cake Mix is the Japanese take on pancake mix: thicker, softer and slightly sweeter than the typical Western breakfast pancake, with the gently risen edges and pale-gold colour that define a Japanese hot cake. Made by simply adding milk and eggs.

How to make

1. Mix 150g of powder with 100ml of milk and one egg until just combined
2. Cook over medium-low heat for ~3 min on the first side, then ~2 min after flipping
3. Serve with butter, syrup, fruit or a small drizzle of honey
