HIBINO TOKI is a Mino-ware ceramics workshop in Gifu prefecture, the heart of Japan's largest pottery tradition. Tenmoku (天目) is one of Japan's oldest glaze techniques — a dark iron glaze originally brought from China to Japan in the 13th century, now reinterpreted with a contemporary cobalt overlay. Because the glaze breaks differently on every piece, no two cups in the set are quite the same.
