Tomoe River is a Japanese paper famous for one thing: an unusually thin, almost translucent sheet that somehow holds wet fountain-pen ink without bleeding through. The 68gsm weight is the heavier of the two Tomoe makes — a touch more substance under the nib than the original 52gsm. SAKAE bind it into a cloth-spined softcover with a stamped Art Nouveau border on a deep charcoal cover. The thread binding lets the book open flat.

A note on writing on Tomoe River
